Andy Cracknell

Niche Underwriting Manager

Andy began his career in insurance as an office junior for Syndicate 37 Highway Motor Policies at

Lloyd’s in 1976, reaching the position of Branch Underwriting Manager. In 2004, he joined Steve Stone

at Ensign Motor Policies which was being acquired by QBE. There they successfully developed QBE’s

niche and schemes book before moving together to Markerstudy. Since then they have taken the

schemes portfolio from strength to strength.

Ed Smith

Group Schemes Deputy Underwriting Manager

Ed began his insurance career with Wilson Group Insurance Brokers in 1993,

makingthe transition to underwriting in 2004 when he joined Highway Insurance as

an Account Manager. He then managed the niche private car section at QBE Insurance

and moved to Markerstudy’s schemes underwriting department in Chelmsford in

February 2010. Ed was promoted to Group Schemes Deputy Underwriting

Manager in March 2013.

Terry Sinnott

Head of Bespoke Underwriting

Terry started his insurance career at a London city broker,

and then as an underwriter at Premium Line.

After a spell as specialist class underwriter at KGM, he joined

Markerstudy in 2011 as Head of Bespoke Underwriting.

Alan Hart

Bespoke Underwriting

Before joining Markerstudy in 2000 as Referral Underwriter,

Alan worked for British Merchants Insurance, Dominion Insurance;

Lloyds broker Richards Longstaff and E J Welton and provincial

high street brokers over a 30-year period.

Graham Clare

Bespoke Underwriting

Graham has more than 20 years’ experience in the motor insurance

industry. He spent 13 years at Highway before moving on to HSBC

(formerly Corinthian Motor Policies) and joined Markerstudy as a

Bespoke Underwriter in 2009.

Peter Reames

Bespoke Underwriting

Peter’s 16-year insurance career spans travel, household

and motor on both the underwriting and claims side, along with some

commercial broking experience. After a period at ERS, Peter joined

Markerstudy Group’s Bespoke Underwriting team in 2011.

Gregg Southgate

Bespoke Underwriting

Gregg started his career three years ago in broking motor insurance.

Whilst training for his CII he realised his passion for underwriting and

looked to progress in this field. After a stint at ERS and building his

reputation as a knowledgeable, efficient underwriter he joined

Markerstudys' Bespoke department in 2014.
