Nick
Hancock
Regional Development
Manager - South
After finishing university in
Manchester, Nick began his
insurance career with esure
in 2001 as a NewBusiness Advisor;
Nick was promoted to Assistant
Referral Underwriter and stayed
until 2004. Brief stints were held
at Allen & Allen and AIG before
returning home to Kent and joining
Chaucer in 2006 as Assistant
Motorcycle Underwriter and then
progressing to Assistant Standard
Motor Underwriter. In 2013 Nick
was promoted to Regional
Development Manager for
the South of England and
Northern Ireland.

Wylie
Head of Intermediary
Development Team
Jim started his insurance career
in the late 1970s working in
various roles in life and pensions
before moving into general
insurance with Lombard
Insurance in 1994. Jimwas later
promoted to Personal Lines
Underwriter before leaving
in 2000 to join Groupama.
Jim spent three years as
Technical Officer before moving
to RTL Systems in 2004 as
Project Manager. Joining Chaucer
in 2007, Jim successfully managed
relationships and sought new
business opportunities before
being promoted to Head of
Intermediary Development in 2011.

Hunt
Intermediary Development
Advisor - North
David started his career in insurance
in 1992 with a direct insurer in
Bromley and has since spent time
working with both brokers and
insurers in various business
development roles. He moved to
Chaucer in 2010 as the Intermediary
Development Advisor for the North
of the country and is responsible for
the telephone account management
of around 120 brokers.

Dickinson
ACII Divisional Head,
UK Commercial
Stuart started his career in Personal
Lines with the Guardian Royal
Exchange Group in 1985, progressing
to Development Underwriter and
moving to the London Market
Division in 1997. Stuart joined
Lloyds and SVB Syndicate
G H Carrington in 1999 to found
the UK SME account and in 2007,
Stuart was recruited by Chaucer
Syndicates Ltd as Commercial
Development Underwriter to
broaden Chaucer’s range of UK
retail products. In 2011 he became
Divisional Head UK Commercial.

Jon
Bryant
ACII Head of Commercial
Motor Underwriting
Jon gained a degree in Business
Studies from Southampton Institute
and started his career working
for a London Market Broker before
moving to Chaucer in 2001 within
the Fleet department. In 2006,
Jon moved to work for ERS in
the London Market as a Fleet
Underwriter. Jon returned to
Chaucer Insurance in 2008 to
become Head of Fleet, operating
predominantly within Lloyds
market before changing his role
to Head of Commercial Motor in 2012.

Thompson
Head of Non-standard
Underwriting
Gary has been in the insurance
industry for 25 years and started
his career with NIG. He has
underwritten all classes of motor
insurance during this time and
has focused on the non-standard
market for the majority of his
career. Gary has worked
at Chaucer for 12 years.

Leonard
Head of Standard
Underwriting
Mark started his career in Insurance
working for a Marine broker in
Maidstone beforemoving to Chaucer
Insurance (formally Ibex Motor
Policies in 1997). Mark joined Ibex
as a Motor Underwriting Technician
and has had a number of roles within
the group but has been Head of
Standard Motor Underwriting since
May 2010 which involves broker
and direct business.

Head of Claims
Peter has worked in the claims
arena for over 40 years, since
starting at a Lloyd’s Motor Syndicate.
He has worked in both the Lloyd’s
and company markets as well as
for a solicitor and a Big Four
accountancy practice. He has for
many years been involved in
managing claims departments
and in the handling of catastrophic
claims. He joined Chaucer
Insurance in March 2010.
