We’re delighted to announce that former Markerstudy business development aficionado, Samantha Edge is returning to roost! After a brief ‘flirtation’ elsewhere it didn’t take long for Sam to want to rekindle things with her first true love, Markerstudy. She is returning as Director of Business Development for our ‘disruptor’ app, TRiCE which offers annual motor, temporary motor, gadget and pet insurance in a matter of seconds.

Insurance Times Awards Highlights

In case you missed it, December started with a bang at the Insurance Times Awards on the 7th December. As a Group we were Finalists in four award categories, came home with a Highly Commended accolade for Lancaster Insurance and sponsored two awards, Excellence in Motor Broking and Excellence in Technology – Broker. The undoubted highlight for many was Anthony Foster’s unique delivery of the winner in the Excellence in Technology Broker Award Category at the beginning of the evening.

With Christmas soon to be upon us, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our broker and insurer partners who have supported our many endeavours, initiatives and events over the course of the last year. Much like the The Wind in the Willows, seeds of change have been sown in insurance, bringing highs and lows to the industry and considerable strain in many cases, but alongside this, fantastic opportunities to those forging ahead with technology.

Why there is no transparency without context

Since our last Loop-e, some of you will no doubt have come across numerous articles discussing our financial situation, following the publication of our SFCR (Solvency and Financial Condition Report). It was time to add context, lay the rumours to rest and put to bed the room for misinterpretation and salacious reporting. As I’ve said many times, through hours of recent interviews with the media, we’re in the strongest place that we’ve ever been, in terms of projected profits, operational structure and opportunities on the horizon, but that’s not to say that from now on in it will be plain sailing!
